Frozen Embryo Transfer Patient Information Sheet After Embryo Transfer Care
1. Continue taking 1 doxycycline twice a day until gone.
2. After the embryo transfer you may experience some uterine cramping and pelvic pressure. You may take Motrin, Ibuprofen, or Aleve. Rest without heavy lifting for 24 hours.
3. Continue Progesterone in oil at your usual dosage until instructed to stop. If you begin to spot or bleed, call the office, but do not stop your progesterone until instructed to do so.
4. Remember, no intercourse for at least one week. Place nothing else into the vagina, including douches, except for prescribed medication for the next two weeks.
5. A blood pregnancy test (hCG) and progesterone level needs to be checked 12-13 days after transfer. The blood pregnancy level will be checked again 48 hours later, if the initial test is positive.
6. Continue your estrace tablets as before.
7. If you start to notice increased abdominal bloating and/or weight gain, please call the office.
